Arrested Motion
This painting holds one frozen moment inside a chore, an experimental snapshot of an everyday task. I wanted to show that there is something graceful in a routine most people don't look at twice.
The piece follows the loop of washing dishes and tries to catch how fluid and repetitive the motion is. Showing movement and stillness at the same time was the hard part; I worked it out through brush texture and transparency.
Painting it made me pay more attention to small daily moments and how they tie me to the space around me.
