Telnex: fictional Fight Club advertisement, soap carved as rotary telephone on yellow-green ground

Drawing on the 1999 film Fight Club, this piece imagines an advertisement for Telnex, a fictional communication device the film's characters might use. I carved a bar of soap into a rotary telephone, putting cleansing and communication in one object to match the film's subversive tone.

The yellow-green palette borrows the sterile lighting of an industrial space, which reads as isolation and detachment. The slogan "Uncover You, Connect Two" works as a brand line and as a nod to the protagonist's split identity.

The piece picks up on Fight Club's ideas about duality and the want for real connection in a world that runs on stuff.

Agar Alphabet

Agar Alphabet grows letterforms from live bacteria, turning an odd medium into a carrier for meaning. Like Telnex, it starts from the material and lets the idea come out of it.
